You may have experienced a heartbreak or divorce this year and with the year coming to an end, it is time to re-evaluate your life and relationship. It is important to know how to develop a healthy and successful relationship that will make your life better not bitter.
Here are five things to focus on if you plan on developing a healthy and successful relationship in the New Year:
1. Hold on to the lessons from this year
What did you learn about yourself, about others and about the kind of partner you need? Those lessons learned will serve as a reminder on what you need to focus and work on.
2. Be Your Own Best Critic
No one knows you as much as you know yourself. Others may come into your life to bring an awareness of what you do not know about yourself but it is imperative that you be your own best critic. Be truthful to yourself and do not leave yourself behind.
3. Love, Trust and Respect Yourself
“If you don't love yourself, you won't be happy with yourself. If you can't love yourself, you can't love anyone else. You can't give the love you do not have. You can't make anyone love you without loving yourself first.”
