Building Up Your Team for Success
Team work is an essential factor to the growth and success of any project in the workplace. Without working as, a team, the project suffers greatly and may fail.
It is essential to build on your team as a leader and member. Team work requires the leader, recognizing the skills of team members without prejudice. It is also vital that no one feels intimidated by the other but learn that working together can result in acquiring knowledge and new skills from each other, that can later be utilized in life.
As a certified professional life and relationship coach/expert, I often encounter clients, who are leaders or team members, and are facing challenges in the work place.
If for a moment, everyone will lay aside ego/fear/insecurity and recognize that they are all part of an organization and that their parts are crucial and can lead to other opportunities that may arise from the success of a particular project, the workplace will become a better place in no time.
Individuals should never allow their insecurities cloud the judgement or be a road blocker to the progress of the team but understand that everyone is on the team for a purpose – to ensure that the project is completed smoothly and with success.
Business leaders should ensure that personal issues or beliefs do not interfere with work but learn to look beyond difference and focus on skill-set than experiences. A team member may become quiet due to intimidation but may have skill-sets that the team needs in dire times. Creating an environment that allows all team members contribute equally results in a better work environment.
Success does not happen overnight but having the right skill-set and like-minded individuals who can work and build together, sets the pace for the success of the team.
Always be open to ideas. Never look down on anyone. Do not let your personal opinions or beliefs interfere with the team’s success. You never know where you will meet and need each other in the future. Build into one another without tearing each other down. Be willing to learn from others and stay humble.
