Have you ever wondered if you are present or absent in your life?
I know you may be wondering why I am asking this question. Most of us live in the subconscious or unconscious state and have become numb to ourselves, due to certain life experiences that we do not want to remember or deal with.
However, ignoring these issues often leave you in a semi-comatose state and you may find yourself asking these questions:
- What is happening to me?
- Why do I have to be the one going through this?
Reality is: Without answering to those questions, you may choose to shift from your life’s path into an unknown zone. This shift often leads to seeking for answers in others than getting the help you need, to uncover the reasons why you may be stuck.
"It is not about what you have been through and cannot control. It is about what you can control, change and learn from, that leads to your growth." - Kemi Sogunle
Here are three ways to become present in your life:
- Be Committed to Yourself Before Anyone Else
Learn to stay committed to yourself and your journey. The first step is to get to know and understand you. Love
yourself deeply. This will allow you to work on meeting your needs, setting goals and not having unrealistic
expectations.
- Never shove anything under the rug
No matter how bad the situation you are facing or have faced in life, never put it off without addressing the situation and learning the lessons from the process. The more you shove things aside, the more you become numb to yourself. - Always view your situation from a different perspective
Everything is not always black and white. You may miss out the blue skies and rainbow when looking for answers or love in the wrong places. Always remember that you need to unlearn and learn over like a child to be able to understand your situation. Ask yourself questions that can allow you see things from a different perspective.
Starting this year, become intentional and create the opportunity to become more conscious with your life, become intentional and live a truthful and purposeful lifestyle.
Always remember:
"Life is dynamic not static. Without you evolving and emerging into a higher level of self, you will remain stagnant and become stale. Nothing grows in staleness but mold." - Kemi Sogunle
